jeggings

for Mom? for baby girl? (But not for mom/baby to match) What are your thoughts?

Re: jeggings

  • For Mom, I think they're silly.  I don't like the whole legging look for adults, at least for the most part.  For babies I think they could be cute.

  • We both have them.  I don't know if it is the best fashion statement for me to make, but they are incredibly comfortable.  And I like them to wear under tall boots.  For baby, I think they are adorable!
  • I like them. I would wear them if I lost a little weight.

I wouldn't put my daughter in them. I prefer to dress her in baby clothes.

  • Yes to both... but some rules apply.  Must be high quality jeggings... none of this "printed-on pockets" crap.  Must be balanced with appropriate top and appropriate footwear.

I have a pair and I wear them all.the.time.  They are amazingly comfy.  Mine are the Ana brand from JC Penney (surprising, because I think most of their clothes are total crap.)

You made me LOL, like literally! I also hate "printed-on pockets crap" and I also pretty much hate JC Penney.

I was not sure about them at first, but I found a pair at American Eagle this weekend, and now I really want a pair! I feel really old when I go in AE; like I should be seventeen, not 30 years old. I feel like I get the side-eye from the teenage employees, especially when I'm pushing the baby stroller. I think I'll get a pair!

  • Ick!  I do not think an adult should wear them.  Ever.

I guess they might be cute on a baby, though.

I must admit, I also hate skinny jeans on adults.  I'm just old.

  • IMO they're awful for anyone. But it's probably because I have bad memories of the 80's and that is just what they remind me of. But honestly...I wear flip flops all year long, so I shouldn't talk! :)

  • I hated leggings until I was pregnant, I love them now, with a long sweater and tall boots
  • I just got a new pair of tall boots and I really want a pair of denim leggings or skinny jeans to wear with them. Unless I try them on and they make my a$$ look huge, that is.

But I refuse to call them "jeggings." I hate that word. And "jorts." Nobody I know IRL uses either of those terms, and it may sound silly, but I kind of hold a grudge against those pieces of clothing because they have stupid names. Which is why I own neither.

Although like I said, I'm reconsidering the denim leggings. ;)

  • And never for either of my kids, at least at this age.

One of my aunts got my toddler a pair of skinny jeans last Christmas. DH hated them with a passion and so she wore them maybe twice before I added them to the Goodwill pile. I can safely say that there will be no denim leggings or skinny jeans for either girl!

  • The American Eagle ones actually look like jeans, but are super stretchy and comfy.

I would only get them to wear will tall boots.  But I think they can be cute if they are worn right.

And I know what you mean about the "feeling old" in AE.  I was just in there the other day picking up a pair of jeans and felt the same way.

  • DD has a pair and they are super cute.  She wore them last weekend with her "uggs" from H & M.

For adults, they can be tricky though.  I'm okay with them though if they are styled correctly.

This is why I never have and never will own Crocs...wth is with that name? Plus, I think they're hideous. Big Smile

  • i like them for both adult and baby. i have a couple pairs that i got from nordstrom, they are hue brand. i also have a pair of stretchy j brand jeans which i think are also considered jeggings. i agree with pp though - they need to be worn with the right top and shoes/boots to work. dd doesn't have a pair, but i've been eyeing some at baby gap :-)

i bought DD a pair of "skeggings" at oshkosh - leggings with a skirt attached at the top....  the sign actually said "Skeggings for Baby- 50% Off!"  the are adorable, but the name = super stupid. LOL

  • i am late to the party and just bought my first pair from Seven jeans.  love them!!!  These are super comfortable.  i don't have a girl and if I did I doubt she'd be in skinny jeans but that's just me.
