Just wanted to say hi!
I'm just 20 weeks and have been on bed rest for the past five weeks. Right now I don't know when I will be able to get off bed rest. No one is talking more than two weeks at a time. This is good, because before it was one day / week at a time. I have my normal OB but also go to a parinatologist. I have great doctors - and all the nurses in the office know me by name!
I have a large subchorionic hemorrage. I have bled twice, but right now the bleed is stable. So we (the doctors and my family) are very positive right now. They can see where my placenta bleed into my uterus, but there is no new bleeding! Five weeks ago I was told that I had over 60% chance of losing the baby, they sent me home and said that when I went into labor to call them and head to the ER. The very next day we got into a MFM office and that was one of the best things I could have done. My OB was very surprised to see me the next week still pregnant!
They are just watching to see if the bleed affects the babys growth and making sure I don't go into preterm labor.
That's my story in a nutshell - the details can be overwhelming. There are a few other things going on. But I have great doctors and a lot of support from family and friends.
But I have a feeling that I will be on bed rest for the duration of my pregnancy..... we'll see how it goes!
Re: Hello - new to the boards - long
Thanks for the welcome
I'm trying to be a participant, not just a lurker. I'm still working right now from my lap top in bed, but my official leave will start soon. So I will have even more time on my hands!
I also have a subchorionic hemorrhage & have been on bedrest since 14 weeks. & at this point we do not see me getting off of it for the duration of pregnancy! Our doctor gave us a 33% chance of losing the baby. I have been an emotional wreck, but am sooooo lucky to have the help & love that i do! im almost 22 weeks & feel so luck to still be carrying my little girl. Bedrest has been hard, but will be worth EVERY minute of it when i get to hold her.
Hope all goes well with you, lots of thoughts & prayers your way!!
