i was on the fence about 2, seeing how stretched i am w/ ONE lo and working and keeping up w/ the house ... 2 just doesn't seem possible.
i'm perfectly content w/ one and done now.
Love - a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes the eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker - Author Unknown
I always wanted a big family (I have 5 sisters, 1 brother). Now we are thinking we are 1 and done! I love the calmness of my small family. I literally cannot think when my whole family is together, everyone screaming. DD did not STTN until 15 months and even that has happened only a few times. I cannot go through that again lol! I may change my mind in a few years so we are leaving our options open. She is everything I could want in a daughter so if it is just her I am happy.
I am aware this makes me sound awful but my experience with LO has made me not want more.
We both love him more than anything and wouldn't go back in time, but it was absurdly hard for the first year: preterm, hospital stays, health issues, GERD, colic, no STTN still, PPD...
If I could be 100% guaranteed a perfect baby I'd do it, but I'm not prepared to deal with the issues again.
We are probably one and done. We always imagined having two but neither one of us wants to go through everything again. It took us 7 years and one miscarriage to have our son so we might not be able to conceive easily. We are in our late thirties (eek) we like time is running out, our LO still does not STTN (I feel like I have aged a lot because of not getting any sleep) and we not certain if we can afford two kids.
We actually like the idea of only having one child and we do feel complete. If he starts STTN and we win a huge lottery jackpot we might consider trying for another!
DS is almost 22 months and we are TTC and have been since the summer. But we will not have more than 2.

We had talked about trying to have a boy and a girl, if possible. We got our girl, but she has been a handful. We haven't had a bunch of health problems with her, but she is a stubborn little thing and can be a bit much sometimes. I love her to death and would be perfectly happy just having her.
Plus, my DH and I aren't getting along very well and could be on the train to D-town, so that would rule out any more kids with him!
