Prenatal/Pregnancy Nutrition:

Making healthy food choices and continuing (or developing) healthy eating habits during pregnancy encourages appropriate weight gain, continued mobility, and an overall positive experience and outcome.  Registered Dietitian, Stacy Rothschild, MPH, RD, will take you through the basics of eating for a healthy pregnancy.  You will learn which foods are important to include in your diet, which foods to avoid, how much extra food to eat each day, and how to eat for healthy (but not excessive) weight gain.  You will also learn tips on preventing or minimizing common pregnancy woes like morning sickness and constipation!

 

Class topics include:

  • How to eat well to maximize your nutrient intake for two (or more)!
  • Learning skills for healthy meal planning, grocery shopping tips, and stocking a healthy pantry.
  • Identify foods, lifestyle habits and other circumstances to avoid or minimize the risk of harm to your growing baby.
  • Proper food storage and preparation to prevent food borne illnesses during pregnancy.
  • Learn about natural remedies to safely address common pregnancy complaints such as nausea, heartburn, constipation, fatigue and more.

Healthy snacks will be provided!

3, 1 hour class sessions

Class Time: Thursdays 6 -7 PM, First Class October 21st

Postnatal/Post Baby Nutrition:
Healthy eating habits can positively enhance your entire post-pregnancy experience and make weight loss feel like less of a chore.  Since your own eating habits directly influence your baby?s health and future eating habits, it?s an especially great time to make healthy changes!   Registered dietitian, Stacy Rothschild, MPH, RD, will help you discover food choices that meet nutritional requirements during breastfeeding and show you how to lose postpartum weight the healthy way, whether you choose to breastfeed or not.  You will also receive practical tips on how to eat well when you don?t have much time!  Also wondering how you?ll introduce your little one to foods?  The food related decisions you make now can help to establish healthy eating patterns and influence long-term health for you and baby!  Also learn healthy tips about meal planning for you and your family!

Class Time: Mondays 12-1 PM, First Class October 18th
