Parenting after a Loss

I don't know why we have a nursery

DS still sleeps in our room. Up until now, he's either been in the arms reach cosleeper or in bed with us. He hasn't outgrown the cosleeper yet but I thought he might be more comfortable in his crib with more space. So I made DH disassemble the crib and set it back up in our room. Thankfully, we have a good size master bedroom. We have the glider in our room too so all we use the nursery for is diaper changes/storing clothes. The nursery is right next to our room too so I don't know why it's so hard for me to move him there. I'm glad I spent so much time while I was pg putting together such a nice nursery. Oh well, it can be a playroom now :). Hopefully DS likes his crib tonight!

  • I didn't set up a nursery because we set up the crib in our room for now and also because we are moving soon. But at this point I don't even know why I set up the crib at all, we've been sleeping on the couch in the living room with him in a bassinet next to us!

That was us the first 2 wks...it's such a BLUR!!

Now I love LO's room- it's probably my favorite room in the house.  It's nice that we are using it more and more.

  • I hope his first night in the crib goes well!  LOL, I don't know how you have made it this long!  I'm only saying that because LO was suuuuch a light sleeper that while she was in our room none of us got any sleep.  Finally, after 2 months I put her in her room and while I was scared it was the best thing for us.  I think if she had been a heavier sleeper she would have been in our room for quite a while.  Either way, you have a nice playroom for him :) Let us know how it goes!

  • Ha ha.  We had the opposite experience.  I had planned to have DD in our room with us for about six months, and we were moving soon after that (and had to get the house ready for renters), so I didn't even bother decorating the nursery.  But we ended up moving her in there around 3.5 months.  The whole time, she slept in a nursery where the photos were on the floor "waiting" to be hung.  Since we've moved, it hasn't been much better.  We can't paint, and we're stuck with the ugly furniture the Embassy provides, so there's not much I can do to make it all pretty.  I'm always super-jealous when people post pictures of cute, matching nurseries!
