I told my boss 2 months ago i thought i deserved more based on my work. and that I didn't want to go look elsewhere for another job just for money, and I was getting lots of phone calls from recruiters (2 but hey, i needed to exaggerate

Im in sales but my base is a bit low based on market value. I went out and looked and i could have gotten about 15% more.  But i like my hours, my colleagues and right now, i didn't want to invest the time in a new job and see DD any less than i already do.

Finally, he came back to me and said he got a 10% raise approved.

Yippee. its not life changing but with DH out of work, anything helps. and means a lot he went to bat for me.
