Bummed :( (job related)

Got word today that I didn't even make the short list for the job I recently applied to. Its my dream job. I really thought I'd make the short list for at least a phone interview.

I mostly am feeling guilty now that if we want to move back to the south bay its going to be on John to find a job. I was hoping to take some pressure off him. The legal field is still a tough place to navigate, it took a hit during this recession and he doesn't have enough experience yet to be super competitive.

And I feel like I failed our families b/c they were super excited about the possibility of us moving closer to them soon (not that 2 hours away is that far)

And now come April, just as I'm coming back from maternity leave, I have to either search for a new job or make sure my contract can be extended for another year or more.

I'm sorry. It's really not your fault though and you shouldn't take it personally. A lot of great candidates don't hear word one back from their resumes these days.

Oh, Laura, I'm so so sorry. I know how excited you were - it sounded perfect. But there will be other job, and I really think you will get down here soon! In the meantime, John gets to keep working, adding to his experience, and who knows what might pop up in your field. HUGS.

I am sorry, I know you were hoping it would pan out. Hopefully it just means something bigger and better is around the corner. Your not a failure by any means, hugs.
