Babies: 6 - 9 Months

My UO

Babies can manipulate their parents at this age.  No, not when they are newborns, but by now they know if they fuss, you will pick them up.  If you continue to scoop them up whenever they get fussy, you'll regret it later.

Re: My UO

  • Ha ha! I agree exccept I wouldn't call it manipulation. I call it classical conditioning. Like Pavlov's experiment (dog, food, salivation). Smile

  • I agree with you...
  • Drew has me whipped. He knows it, DH knows it, and I know it.

I already "regret" it, but I have so much guilt about his health issues, I make excuses and just don't care.

I've promised DH to get tougher after his next round of surgeries in December.

    :(?

  • This opinion is not too unpopular in my family and circle of mom friends, but I have noticed to be quite unpopular on here. I think my son does stuff like that all them time.

  • ITA but I am guilty of jumping for him at first sign on fussiness, and he totally knows it. DH says thats why he isnt even thinking of crawling...

ITA. It is more along the lines of operant conditioning at this point. I am a sucker for this kid and he knows it.
