Tell me about allergies

I'm taking Mitchell to the Dr tomorrow to get checked out. Again. He's having a really hard time breathing, and up all night coughing. Every couple months we go through this and they say it's just allergies, give him medicine. Well it doesn't get better!

I've asked about breathing treatments, but the Dr says his problem isn't in his lungs so the breathing treatments wouldn't help. 

What have the Drs done for your DC that I can ask about tomorrow?

My advice would be to get a referral to an allergist asap. My DD was diagnosed with allergies and ped said her ear infections and every other problem was allergies. When we finally demanded and took her it turned out she had the back test which was no big deal at all and turns out she has no allergies and it was her tonsils and adenoids. She is now doing great. I know you DC is having different symptons but if it is allergies you want to treat it. If it isn't then you want to be able to move on.
