Sorry, Shorty, couldn't resist. At church Sunday morning, I for some reason needed to nurse Jana. Well the "nursery" is off the bathroom at my church, so this lady (my great aunt actually) comes into the bathroom and sees me with the baby. Now I still have to hold the bewbie so both my hands are occupied and the nursing cover is doing its job well. She comes over to us and begins to raise up the cover while saying, "Let me see that baby." I am hunching over trying to cover up my business and manage to see, "Um, she's eating." Did this phase her? Negative. She just says, "Oh she's so big," and "I'll leave her alone, she's busy."
I'm just going to give this one to the generation gap. I think she may have thought I was just getting her to sleep and covering her up with a blanket to reduce distractions. That's the generation that talks to you without listening to what you say..so I'm thinking she didn't realize I was breastfeeding. That's my story, anyway.
