CLICKY POLL

We have so many new mommies that I think it's time for the best poll ever again![Poll]

Re: CLICKY POLL

  • Obviously I can't vote yet, but, I'm pretty sure I'll throw up.  I almost did during my HSG and I envision labor to hurt just a *tiny* bit more than that.

  • So yeah, I'm not afraid to say it - I pooped.  Although it wasn't a full on poop.  Just a little one squeezed out.  The nurse quickly scooped it up and it was gone like it was no big deal.
  • I have no idea if I pooped.  If there was anything in there it probably came out with how hard I was pushing, but I didn't see it and no one said anything so I'm going to just say that I didn't.

  • I puked. They gave me a popsicle and I couldn't even keep that down.

I don't *think* I pooped. I asked DH and he said that if I did, he didn't see it. That was a big fear! It's still a fear if we have another. No idea why.

  • I very unfortunately pooped, but I was expecting it to happen.  It is the one thing that I really, really wish didn't happen.  I know DH was totally grossed out by it.  I only voted for that one, but I also came very close to puking a number of times during labor, not delivery.  I remember trying to keep it down until DH got me something to throw up into and by the time he did, I got it to stop.  I think it was just from being in so much pain.
  • Neither, but I spent all of Alexa's first day on earth throwing up thanks to being allergic to morphine, Laura can attest to that - sorry Laura!

  • I obviously can't answer this, but my biggest fear is pooping too. Indifferent
  • I voted for the last one. Since I didn't actually have a labor or delivery.
  • Pooping during delivery was one of my hugest fears when I was preggo.  Somehow, miraculously, it didn't happen.  I did throw up once when the pain got really bad before I got the epidural.
  • Thanks to the good ol enema- no pooping during delivery for me! I did one at home after my water broke to help get labor going. Highly recommended for those with a fear of pooping during labor! I did throw up- first time the whole pregnancy!
  • I was a pooper. My DH likes to make fun of me for it. My doctor says almost everyone does it!

  • I picked "haven't been through labour"... DS's birth was a sceduled c-section.  Sometimes I feel sad that I didn't get to experience this "rite of passage", but I really don't mind that I missed pooping and throwing-up :-)  All through my PG it was one of my worst fears.

  • I'm glad to see that pooping is a common fear- I'm so afraid of this!!  I know its normal, but I just don't want it to happen!  I think I might take Carollyn's advice for the enema!
  • I just threw up.  But I was joking with the doctor and my nurse about pooping after my epi.

I asked if they would tell me, like "OMG you just shat!" or "Uhhh, you pooped".

I was so sure I did, but the nurse said that I didn't so I'm going to believe her.

  • I puked.  A lot.  For two and a half days.  I made DH swear not to tell me if I pooped, and I never asked.  Ignorance is bliss Smile
  • I puked before the epi and then every time I switched the side I was laying on I would throw up. I didn't poop, as far as I know, so I was happy about that. Pooping was enough of an ordeal for the weeks following delivery!

No kidding! That's when I was afraid of pooping.
