Parenting after a Loss

why it sucks that my kid is a peanut.....

so I looked last night and i have FOUR.... YES i said 4 .... jumbo tubs of winter clothes for H... all in 6-12 months... I mean if you had a march baby wouldn't you assume that when they were 6 1/2 months old they would be close to  6-12 month item?

Well... we have 4 pounds to go to get to the 17 pound 6-12 month clothes.... and I discovered today that she has about 4 3-6 month outfits that are cold weather friendly.

she puked on 2 of them before we could leave the house.

pooped on one at work (is with me at work this week)

and is now wearing the one piece suit part of her zebra halloween costume.Embarrassed

I guess we will be ordering some 3-6 month stuff with ears on the hoods...

  • This exactly happened to us.  He can still wear 3-6 size shirts and he's almost 1!

Right now, he's in 6 month or 9 month pants and sleepers.

He has never really worn his size.  We had to go out and buy more NB size stuff after he was born and he was in the size for a solid 2 months at least.

Ditto. I have 12 month stuff for warmer weather (he WAS born in spring) that will be useless as he's wearing that size now.

I don't think very many kids actually wear the size of the age they are.

  • I am kind of having that problem.  DD is sooo long but skinny so I never know what will fit her.  I can put her in 18 months clothes and quite a few 2T, it's unreal.  I've stopped buying so many clothes ahead of time because I have no idea if it will fit her or not.  At least if they are too big you can roll the sleeves and pants up.

  • I was so worried that I didn't have enough warm 0-3, bc it is fall, in CT, and it tends to get a little chilly at night sometimes... but he's almost out of his 0-3's already, and with this freakish warm weather, he's only had to wear warm clothes a few times, so he's worn the same couple of outfits, and has his pjs, and that's been enough!

I went through his 3-6 stuff and found that while he has lots of short sleeved onesies, he only had a couple of long sleeved, so I went out and bought a 4 pack of Carter's long sleeves plain onesies in dark blue, grey, tan, and brown...

  • My daughter is the same way. She can fit in a few nb onesies still. For her 1st birthday everyone bought 12m and they are all sleeveless(or dresses), she wont even be able to wear them until christmas.
  • I think I'll have a peanut on my hands too!  She's STILL in newborn pants, but wearing 0-3 onesies.  She's got some time before she won't fit in the 0-3 onesies...they are big around her diaper still.  Around the house when it gets chilly, it's no big deal to wear a onesie and pants, but as fall gets into full swing, she's going to have to get some warmer outfits.  And it will be my luck that by the time I buy things, she'll start growing like a weed.
