Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Our first experience with Throw up :(

So we had our first experience with Throw up last night.
DD ate dinner and she was super hungry , wolfing it down. Then she drank her bedtime bottle of breastmilk. All while being happy.
Then she went to sleep.
I went in to check on her before I went to bed and there was a HUGE pile of throw up in her crib.

So DH and I went in and got her up, it was ALL OVER HER, in her hair, on her face, on her jammies, on her blankie. So we gave her a sponge bath and changed her and her bed. All the while she is smiling and happy with no fever.

And then I was for sure she would wake up since she threw up all of her dinner but she didn't she slept all the way though the night. So strange.

I was so sad that she had been sleeping next to/in it for a few hours Sad but she seemed no worse for the wear last night or this AM

  • Aww, poor baby!  I worry about this happening after we go to sleep for the night too - babies seem remarkably unimpressed with things like throw up, lol.

  • Yeah, our DD has done this a couple times too.  We pushed up her feeding time and we wait about 20-30 minutes between solids and milk so her tummy doesn't get too full.  I also stay with her for a few minutes after I lay her down in bed to make sure she doesn't squirm too much and cause herself to throw up.

  • Gross!  I'm glad she seems ok otherwise and isn't sick.
