I feel like John is bored with his toys. We have stacking blocks, cups, the rings that stack on a base, toy cell phone (which of course he can tell the difference between the toy and the real one and has no interest in the toy) and a few other toys that the packaging said were appropriate for his age. He just doesn't seem very interested in them.
Any suggestions for toys or activities that I can do with him, to distract from his favorite game right now...........which is to take all the books and knick knacks off the book shelves? I think we might have naked bookshelves for a few years
Re: 9ish month old toys?
How is he w/ puzzles and books? What about big toys? Do you have a push toy for him - like a car or a truck that he can hold on to and walk with?
Ella was starting to want to hold her books them and flip pages and make noises at the books.
What about the Leap Frog musical table? That was a favorite for Dillon.
He also has a My Pal Scout that goes everywhere with him.
We recently found this toy in our storage room. It's great for Annabelle because she can stand next to it and play.It has 5 settings: music, beeps, spanish, and etc.
oh yeah - duh - Activity Table!!! Yes
Cooper - I have mine sitting in tthe basement if you want to borrow it. I have that leapfrong one too.
OK - I'll bring it to playgroup next month - if you want to get it sooner, just let me know and we can probably figure out a time.
Kathryn, make room in your vehicle next month at playgroup because I will be bringing you your exersaucer back! haha
ditto the musical/activity table. There are also some out there that don't need batteries and therefore aren't as annoying. I got one as a hand-me-down that has psuedo-giant legos on it and the top is 2 sided, one side you build on, the other side has wheels/knobs to turn around , etc. You might want to look into getting him a little tool bench/toy workshop thing- sort of the boy equivalent of a play kitchen.
We have fabric tunnels and tents that are fun and still get use from Eloise and the boy I watch, the 1 yr old isn't crawling through them yet, but Eloise was @ 1.
Maybe a little early for this but might be good to consider- a train table? he could easily pull up on one and then play w/ stuff on the table.
The tunnel only comes out on special days.
