Need gift for DCP. Help?

I just found out today one of the teachers at DD's daycare is leaving. She is moving halfway across the country back to her home town. She only watches DD in the mornings for an hour or so before the others come in, and sometimes during lunch, but she is always so nice in the mornings when I drop off and DD likes her :-) I want to get her something small but I'm not sure what. Any ideas?

  • Hmm...maybe a thank you card and a gift card to dunkin donuts or a place like that that you can do only $5 or $10.

Or maybe a McD's gift card for some coffee or breakfast on the road trip back!

  • As a former teacher, a homemade treat or a small gift card to Starbucks, etc. were always my favorite. Stay away from bags of candy (I always got loads of candy) and cheesy trinkets. Any gift from a child warms your heart, but one can only have so many "World's Best Teacher" key chains, glass ornaments, and bags of Dove chocolate!

Make sure she likes coffee if you're going to do Starbucks. I hate coffee and chocolate, but they seem to be the go-to-gift for teachers. I like the homemade treat idea. Bake her some cookies or something like that. Just don't say your LO helped you make it. I teach little kids and they make me think twice about eating it when they say they "baked it themselves." :)
