NT scan this Friday

Hey Ladies,

So I have my NT scan this Friday...this is my first pregnancy, so can anyone tell me what goes on during the appointment of the NT scan?  I know what they are looking for but is it a really long appointment?  I just get a little nervous when I don't know what to expect...but I am also REALLY excited to see the baby and how much it has grown :-)  I have been waiting for my 12 week mark to get here so that I can tell everyone and anyone that I am pregnant.  There are a lot of people in my life who still don't know that I am pregnant, so it'll be nice to share the fantastic news!  Not too long I will be moving on to the 2nd trimester board...I can't wait :-) :-) :-)

    It really depends on if baby cooperates. Our tech said the u/s portion could last 5 mins or it could last 30 mins.  Our baby was very uncooperative as far as getting into position so the tech could get the measurements, but for me that meant that we got to see him/her up on the big screen for longer  :)

    The blood portion took less than 5 mins for me - just 6 drops of blood on the piece of paper and that was it.

    Good luck on Friday - I hope you get some great u/s pictures!
