Parenting after a Loss

Anyone not super excited for LO to learn to walk?

Maybe this makes me a bad mommy.  I am really in no rush to have L start walking.  He is already into everything, I can barely keep up with him as it is.  Once he's walking....it gives me the chills to think about lol!  I mean, of course I love it when he achieves new milestones, and of course I'll probably be so excited when he takes his first steps, but I'm definitely not pretending that I don't know what a walking toddler means for me!  Just wondering if I'm alone in this "bad mommy-ness".

  • You are not alone, I felt the same way when DS was about to walk.
I always say my favorite baby age was 6-7 months .. when they are sitting but still staying where you left them.

Walking is tough at first but they gotta do it :O)

  • It's so exhausting!  The best thing you can do is child-proof so that you are comfortable letting him go here and there.  You still have to follow but not worry nearly as much.

I agree with popcorn, it's totally exhausting and they get into everything even more then before but I have to tell you that seeing DD take her first steps and now toddling has been one of my proudest moments as a momma. It's sad that she's not a little baby anymore, but she's turning into an independent little girl and it's so awesome to watch the transformation.
