Last thursday I had to go to the ER because I was having excrucitating pain in one side. The ER doctor said that my pain was caused by a ruptured cyst a yeast infection and a UTI, I was like WTF? He said that the pains could still be caused by an ectopic pregnancy and that I have to keep following up with my doctor frequently to rule that out. At the time I was too early for them to see anything. I am scared because I am still having excruciating pain (for those who have children already it feels like labor pain only constatly and just on one side). But it has spread to where like 90% of my body aches. The pain is so bad I have laid on the floor and cried. The anxiety over it all doesn't help. Anyway my first appointment is today and I will hopefully know more. I just want this horrible phase to pass. If I am going to have a an ectopic pregnancy I want to know so I can get on with my life. I have all this pain on top of morning sickness and extreme fatigue. UGH! Anyway sorry for complaining but has anybody else ever had an ectopic pregnancy?
Re: Ectopic pregnancy?
She doesn't know yet because I am so early along. She will let me know as much as she can today. I have only seen and ER doctor so far and talked to her on the phone.
Is 5 weeks really too early to see something on the u/s?
When is your u/s scheduled?
I am so sorry to hear what you are going through.
I recently went through an ectopic pregnancy (I had no idea I was even pregnant) and I understand how painful it can be. For me, I had some mild spotting and pain. It was so intense that I was getting hot and cold flashes and no position I could place myself in would help or make it feel better.
I was seeing a fertility doctor and she did a transvaginal u/s and that was the most painful thing I ever experienced. She confirmed it was in my fallopian tube and that I was too far along to use the medicine to release it so I was given no choice but to have surgery.
It all happened so quickly and for me, I was lucky that she caught it in time. The excruciating pain was caused from blood being released into my abdomin and after it was all said and done she confirmed the baby was almost 8 weeks.
Please know I am not trying to scare you.
Good luck today! I pray you do not have to go through this as I did and that it is one of the other options the ER doctor mentioned. If it is ectopic, use me as inspiration to know that it is possible to become pregnant again (I even had my right tube taken out). I am almost 10 weeks and my ectopic surgery was on June 5th.
Keep us updated.
(Sorry for any spelling errors- I cant use the spell check on my work computer.)
Also, my levels were very low and this is the one sign that is leading me to believe that it may be ectopic.
I would assume if it was just a yeast infection it wouldnt affect those numbers that drastically.
As for a cyst rupturing (I have PCOS) and have had several that have done this and trust me- if it was that it would be a fairly short time period of pain compared to what an ectopic is unless there was a major complication from it.
