so my DH told his brother about the baby

Background, my DH and his brother are not that close. They've only seen each other once in the past 10 years because we live really far away, but they talk on the phone regularly. BIL just started a new job in a new city and is very stressed out according to my DH.

Anyway, my DH was really excited to tell his brother about the baby, but when he told him, BIL didn't really seem to care. DH sounded crushed when he told me, but blamed it on his brother's stressful new job. But seriously, what kind of an @sshat can't feign some kind of enthusiasm over the birth of his first nephew or niece?? This really irritated me. I know that BIL and his girlfriend are a lot older then us and maybe can't or don't want children, but at least he could have acted somewhat interested in the baby to be nice to my husband.

give him some time to warm up to the idea. He will come around.

I agree on giving him time, but will be adding @sshat to my home vocabulary.  Besides, men are weird!
