Britax convertable car seats

I am looking into getting a second convertable car seat. We have the Graco Nautilus but I read its not good for kids under 2. I have heard nothing but good things about Britax, but am not sure which one! Recomendations? Whats the difference besides price?

Re: Britax convertable car seats

  • we LOVE our boulevard - DD likes the headwings a lot.  I like them for the extra protection, she likes them for naps.  When we are in the other car (rare) with the other car seat (evenflo, a hand me down), she does not look as comfortable at all!

  • We have the Boulevard after recommendation from a number of friends.  Haven't used it yet with our LO but have used the Marathon with my nephews and they're great too!

  • I have a evenflo advance and a britax marathon. I prefer my evenflo over the britax. Graco my ride, evenflo advance and first years true fit all have the same harness height as britax all install just as easy and are simple to use. So I would look at all these seats and see which one you prefer. The Graco natiulis is a forward facing car seat only and should not be used unless your child is at least one years old and 20 lbs. It is much safer to keep your child rear facing as long as you can so I really don't see the use of that car seat until at least 2-3 years old since most car seats can hold a child rear facing that long.
  • Just an FYI- the Graco Nautilus is NOT a convertible car seat.  It is forward facing ONLY.

I like the Britax seats as well as the Graco My Ride 65

  • I have the marathon and love it.  I went through diapers.com and got a great deal and used a coupon code i found.
  • According to Consumer Reports, the 2 top rated convertible seats are the Evenflo Triumph Advance and the Britax Boulevard.  We have the Boulevard in our car, and my mom has the Triumph Advance in hers.  I prefer the Boulevard, but they are both equally rated for safety.

I drive a Corolla, and with the Boulevard in it, we can still seat 2 people in the back seat along with the car seat.

  • We also have a Boulevard and LOVE it.  DS has been in it since he was 5 months old and it has grown with him wonderfully!  We will definitely be purchasing another one for this baby when she is big enough.
