What did they say about it?
This is the complete opposite of what happened with DS. I gained right away with him. This time I'm down almost 5 lbs. I think it's a combo of m/s, decreased appetite from my zoloft, nursing and chasing a toddler around.
My first appointment isn't until Thursday.
ETA: I started out at a healthy weight so I'm worried they're going to be concerned.

Re: If you're losing weight and have already seen your Dr
I was on the lower end of the weight chart when I got pregnant. At my last appointment (2 weeks ago), I was down 8 pounds. My doctor was concerned. She told me to try to eat more high cal. foods so I can gain weight. Even with my last pregnancy, I had trouble gaining weight.
I have another appointment on Friday and I know I have lost more weight since then because I can't eat anything. I'm probably going to start seeing the nutritionist again so I can try to gain some weight!
Hopefully, because you are still early, you'll begin to gain weight! I hope your appointment goes well. Sometimes, I wish I could gain a ton of weight just to be on the safe side. I don't even care how much I gain as long as I am gaining! I'm pretty sure I am down 15+ pounds...
They want to keep an eye on it, but it's not at all uncommon. I'm down about 5 or so already.
I dropped around 15 pounds in a couple of weeks with my first pregnancy, and even then they were alert but not crazy worried about it. They were more concerned with making sure I was hydrated.
I've lost eight pounds. Thank goodness, the weight loss has stopped and remained consistent for the past week. Now I just have to start putting some on!! I was at a healthy weight before I got PG. My first doctor (I see all the doctors in the practice) just gave me the rule "eat whatever you can eat and take your vitamins when you can" because I was so sick. My blood work was fine.
Then the next appointment, the second doctor stressed me out a little bit because she really emphasized the need to stop losing. She basically issued an order to eat through the sickness, etc. Thankfully, I have felt better the past two weeks, and I've been able to eat more!
Good luck. I know it feels horrible to be losing when you know you are supposed to be gaining and keeping your baby healthy.
When I was pregnant I lost 6 lbs at the beginning, I didn't even get back up to my healthy pre pregnancy weight until 20 weeks but my MW wasn't concerned.
Just make sure you are eating when you can and sleeping. You should be fine.
Hey, I missed your BFP, Congrats!
I am not down weight, but I haven't gained any either. I also attribute this to some m/s and that I'm still nursing too (although we're down to once a day). With my last pregnancy, I had gained 5 lbs by 8 weeks, but I had zero m/s or food aversions. I am also starting this pregnancy 20 lbs lighter than my last, and last time my weight was on the low side of ideal. My first appt is Monday, and I don't expect the weight to be an issue unless there is no gain for my next appt, but I do expect that they'll recommend that I try and gain some.
I had an appointment last week.. I've lost 4 lbs since the last visit. The same thing happened with my DS. They said it's alright as long as I am eating 4-5 mini meals a day. I had morning sickness(all day) up until last week so I am blaming it on that. I think next time there will be a jump in my weight since my appetite is back.
I had ketones in my urine at my first appointment. My doctor told me to try to eat as much as I could and also to drink 100 ounces of water a day. He actually said staying well hydrated was more important.
I am worried about losing weight since I'm still nursing my daughter some. I don't want to put too much stress on my body from being pregnant and lactating. I'm already on the lower end of normal body weight so I'm trying really hard not to lose much.
Thanks! You too! We're down to one or two sessions a day too. My supply is really tanking, I imagine because of my lack of appetite even when I'm not feeling nauseous.
