Has anyone saved cord blood? What bank did you use and how much does it cost (if you're willing to share)?

I donated my daughter's. Instead of sitting in some dubiously regulated freezer forever, it will go to research new cures or be used as a transplant for someone who is sick. Hopefully her cord blood will save someone's life
Unfortunately, I don't think this option is widely available, but it might be in your area.

We have banked twice with CBR. It was about $2500 the first time, and $1500 the second time. It is worth it to us. We know a couple that used their son's after a brain injury. Her 100% fine today because of it.

This is our first and we plan on private banking so our LO will have it if it's needed. We have been looking at CBR and ViaCord but we are still looking and have a while to decide so we haven't made any decisions yet.
about 70% of the illnesses cord blood can treat are genetic....which means they're IN the cord blood making it useless. we donated as well. cryobank international is based in florida but will send a courier to pick it up wherever you are. and it's all free.
