Good book for Dad to be

Hello!  I got a BFP this week.  I have a ton of pregnancy books that my sister kindly loaned me.  I want to get one for my hubbie.  Any suggestions?

  • MH is reading Daddy's Pregnant, Too.  I think he's finding it very informative.

  • Honestly, have him look at the same books you are looking at. I have tons of books on fathers, I am a huge father advocate in my line of work, and found the ones on pregnancy are useless. I have found most books will talk about your hormones, the baby, and your body.

Over all I am very unhappy with fathers books! CryingHowever I also discovering the pregnancy books aren't just for moms, the dads can look through them too.

I try to keep my husband active in what is going on with me, granted he at this time is much more interested in how big the tats are getting. I supose as we are both so early on, it is still sort of weird to think there is a baby growing inside of me. Yes

  • I like this one.

but be prepared for him not to read any book at all about your pregnancy ...

  • My Boys Can Swim is a good one and funny for them.  It's small enough they can read most of it in two bathroom trips.  You'll probably end up telling him most things though, so just go with the flow!

  • My husband likes the iphone apps way better than any book.  They might not be as informative, but they get the important info across.

  • My DH read "So You're Going to be a Dad" and found it hilarious and informative. He also read a lot of the same ones I did and whatever he could find on the interwebs. Yes, we're both obsessive when it comes to learning more about things we don't know. :)

My husband was given this as a gift. He likes it because it was only 20 TINY pages of reading for the first trimester. He gets the basic idea, I fill him in on other things that are going on, and he doesn't feel like he has some big textbook to read to know what is happening with me & the baby.

i got dh my boys can swim.  it's lighthearted and cute.  i read the whole thing in one sitting, dh has only read about 10 pages.  he did download an iphone app from what to expect, though, and reads it daily.

  • "Why does she love cheese more than me?"  It is short and sweet - DH loved it and he actually knows more than me about some topics now.
