Hi I am having # 2 in May and I had a emergency c section the first time. I wanted a vaginal birth. I am aiming for a VBAC this time. So I have a few questions:
1.Was your VBAC successful?
2.Do you feel you did anything different this time during labor to make it successful? Such as less medical intervention movin around etc..
If you havent given birth what will you do differently this time to try and have a successful VBAC?
Re: Question for moms who had VBACS or will try this time.
1. Yes!
2. The only thing that was different was the my OB (different one from DS) let me push for over 3 hours. But my 2 scenarios were different...DD was holding up well and showing no signs of distress despite the long labor. With DS, his heart rate kept decelerating, he had meconium in his fluid and I spiked a fever.
I had a successful VBAC in April 2010.
My ob let me go into labor naturally and didn't induce, even though I was 41 weeks +. That was great, because some ob's like to do sections once you hit due date.
I moved around a lot during labor, got in the tub, used the birthing ball etc. I also didn't get the epidural until I was 7-8 cm (I don't know if that mattered) but I didn't want to take the chance that it would stall/slow labor.
