I haven't had my first u/s yet but I have seen most women on here say you can hear it as early as 6 weeks, although that is not always true. At 9 weeks you should be able to hear it.
I had an ultrasound last week and was able to see the flicker. My dr won't try to find it with a doppler until 12 wks. But, a lot of women are able to find it with a home doppler at 10+ weeks, some even as early at 8-9 weeks.

Sorry! This is what I meant. You can see it on the ultrasound and they can usually (from what I hear) make it audible, but it's just the machine creating the sound based on the beats that are visible. Doppler takes longer.
