Usually I eat a big salad for lunch at work, but lately the idea of lettuce makes me want to puke. The only things I can stomache are PBJs and plain potato chips. Any ideas for something more nutritious? I'm lactose intolerant, so anything with a lot of dairy is out.
Re: lunch ideas?
I usually take leftovers from the night before.
Eggsalad on toast plus a piece of fruit has been a good one for me as well.
I try to find veggies that don't make me sick. I've been craving cucumbers, so packed those with hummus, yogurt, and microwave soup for lunch. Cherry tomatoes from the garden with some string cheese. Anything a little crispy helps my nausea, so apples have been making it into my lunch too.
Half the time I don't care to eat what I packed by lunchtime and end up going to the cafeteria for some soup and crackers.
Same here. Often I don't even want what I packed.
However, this week I've had good luck with a low sodium microwave soup with veggies in it, some low salt chips or crackers, and crispy, fresh apple slices with small slices of sharp white cheddar as a snack. I also pack a couple of organic low sugar apple juice packets to sip when I can't stand water and a toasted thin-sliced bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. I also pack a piece of fruit, sliced cucumbers and carrots or tomatoes for when I can stomach veggies, and a couple of cans of V8 Fusion when I can't.
Basically, I pack an a$$-load of food each morning and cross my fingers that I'll eat some of it that day. It usually works out in one way or another. If all else fails, I pick up take-out from a local restaurant.
