Baby Aspirin

i've read that some women take baby aspirin with their IVF cycles. why?

does it improve success rates?

    I have to take one on transfer day.  Its bc i tested Positive for Antiphospholilid Syndrome Antibodies. 

    The baby asprin is to prevent clots from cutting off blood flow to the uterus.

    I was retested and they no longer think i have it, so the asprin is a precaution.  But they said they give it out pretty liberally.

    I'm not totally clear on the why... but I was instructed to take a daily baby aspirin during my fresh cycle and my FET. 
    Lovey and I married Oct 2005 He's 34; I'm 33
    TTC since October 2007 DX: MFI
    #1 & #2: Fall 2009 - 2 rounds of Clomid - BFN's
    #3: April 2010: IVF w/ ICSI - BFP but then....blighted ovum, D&C 5/26/10
    #4: 8/27/10 - FET = BFN :(
    #5: FET #2 - 10/28/10, 2 embryos... BFN
    #6: IVF w/ ICSI & AH ER 3/5/2011; 6-day trx 2 blasts 3/11 BFP!!! HB @ 6weeks but it was gone a few days later. D&C 4/8/11
    #7: IVF w/ ICSI & AH ER 8/29/11; 6 day trx 2 blasts, BFP!! (3 totsicles too) HB seen at 7 weeks, but was gone at 8.5 weeks. D&C 10/14/11 HEARTBROKEN!!
    #8 FET - 4/6/12, 1 embryo.....

    I think it was one of the million intitial genetic tests LOL.

    I went on to have a million more, i thought i had some crazy disease...only for them to "accidently" run the 1st test again....and it came back negative.

    Ahhhh the drama of IF!

    All the IVF patients at my center also take it..It is to increase blood flow and prevent any blood clots.  If you test positive for MTHFR or another blood/clotting/auto-immune issue you might put on something even stronger such a lovenox but my RE has everyone take the baby asprin.

    Our little miracle baby is a boy. :)

    Baby Boy Owen and Baby Girl Avery were born too early on Feb. 13, 2011 due to a pedunculated fibroid, incompetent cervix and suspected placental abruption.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    I am going to quote you (LOL!) because this is the reason my RE has all IVF patients take a baby aspirin.

    DH - DX Azoospermia - Sertoli Cell Syndrome

    I hope you don't mind me posting, but this is the same at my clinic. In fact, I'm still taking the baby aspirin.

    After 7 rounds of clomid and HcG, Three failed IUI's with an ectopic pregnancy, two shots of methotrextate, ER visits, breaks, low (3%) morphology One IVF cycle (lupron, gonal-F) that ended in another ectopic, more methotrexate, A Lap to disconnect both tubes, remove endo and a hydrosalphinx, . . .we are finally expecting TWINS from FET#1!
    1.11. 2011: Beginning FET cycle!
    3.11.11- FET! (DH's birthday!) 2 blasts transfered!
    3.20.11- BETA #1 BFP!!! 272! (9dp5dt)
