I have a day and a half work conference to go to later this week and I'm not looking forward to it. Fortunately its in town, but I don't know how I'm going to function with such long meetings and socializing, etc. We're going out to dinner on Thursday and I already looked at the menu at the restaurant. The only thing that looked remotely appealing to eat was the chicken, but it comes with polenta. The thought of polenta makes me want to gag. I guess I will just bring lots of healthy snacks and drink a lot of water and somehow get through it. Ugh, I feel like such a complainer...

Re: work conference during the first tri
How about a soup and bread? Or a baked potato (plain or just butter)? Either of those things an option?
Or ask to substitute sides. if polenta is nasty to you right now, ask for steamed veggies, couple slices of bread, plain rice, a potato....
Yo ucan always eat lots of healthy snacks during the day - make sure everyone sees you eating them - and then at dinner say "Geez, I stuffed myself with all those snacks! I shouldn't have eaten so much during the day!" and then get something small and simple for dinner.

I had to go to a 3-day work conference last week and my m/s started a couple of days before I left. The days were insanely long and we had to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner as a group. I didn't think there was any way I was going to survive without telling them I was pregnant but I came prepared with just about every anti-m/s tactic I could find of and I survived without anyone noticing. Most of the meals grossed me out, but I just asked for substitutes, ate what I could and then had the waiter take my plate away. Preggie Pop Drops were in my pocket for moments when I was feeling very sick and I found they make me feel better for a few minutes so I can eat something more substantial right afterwards. Juice and snacks on breaks helped too. The great thing about this board is that its ok to complain and we all completely understand how you feel! Don't worry, you will make it through the conference!
