Lurking on The Nest's Getting PG board leaves me feeling like a large number of women have trouble getting pg, but I also realize that many just congregate there as they try and that many that speak up have been trying for a while.
With this being my first month off nuvaring, my question to you all...
How many cycles did it take for you?
FWIW, I have read TCOYF and have begun the charting process.
Re: How long did it take you?
I concieved first cycle each time.
For all the good it did me.

We weren't trying, but we don't believe in birth control and were using Natural Family Planning.
Just remember a lot of women on these boards have had a lot of issues trying to conceive and come here for support. I am here because I am a first time mommy and I need the support too because as incredible as it is, it is also pretty scary to have a baby!
Anyway the point is, just keep that in mind when you ask that question because you are going to get a wide range of answers.

We didn't use BC the first time, but I didn't get pregnant for an entire year. I'm sure that was just because we somehow didn't do it while I ovulated?
This time, it took 3 months after DS was born. Yea, we're pretty stupid. So not ready for another one, but we'll love him/her just the same. I think my family is overly fertile.
It took us about 20 cycles to get pregnant the first time, which ended in m/c at 5 weeks. Then another 8 cycles or so after that to get pregnant this time.
I'm glad you're charting and read TCOYF. I can't even imagine going through all that time without at least knowing I was ovulating and that we were timing sex correctly.

Pg #1 - 4 cycles, ended in m/c. I started charting on the 4th cycle and got pg that month.
Pg #2 - 1 cycle. I charted and got pg that month.

Baby #4 - 2 months of trying after a m/c.
I got preg my 5th cycle off nuvaring.
Charting rocked my socks. I loved that. It really helped. Although I fail at CM. It still was great for me.

with #1? 20 months, 1 surgery, 5 IUIs, lots and lots of self administered shots.
with #2 - 0 months. We weren't trying... yet. We were set to return to fertility treatments once CD1 arrived - it just never did.

It took me 2 cycles with #1 and 8 cycles with #2.
Two cycles, Went off BCP, halfheartedly tried for cycle 1 (was just starting to read about timing/temping/etc.), then got pregnant cycle 2 with full on timing/temping.
Totally shocked...I thought I'd have issues as I was misdiagnosed with PCOS about 8 years ago and figured I still had hormone imbalances, etc.
First cycle with both pregancies: I'm 35 now, was 33 then.
I was charting: I highly recommend it. Very easy and very helpful.
The first time I got pregnant I used an electronic ovulation predictor called Clear Blue Easy and it took 4 months.
This 2nd time around it took us one cycle and one attempt. I didn't use the Clear Blue Easy or chart but I watched for fertile CM. I noticed really late one night that it was super stretchy (TMI sorry lol) It actually wouldn't break, so I knew we had a good chance at TTC.
18 days later I got the BFP. Good luck to you!
I was under the same impression, but it took me 1 cycle. (Off BCP for 2 cycles.) I think I am still in shock.
24 months... and then finally did IVF and it worked!
I was also on the Nuvaring. I thought getting preggo would be easy-peasy since my sister and my mother just THINK of getting pregnant and it works for them. Not the case with me! My sister can actually "pick" the months she wants to have the baby in. 4 kids later and every time was bang on!
