Bedbug Epidemic

With all the recent news coverage of so many places being infested with bedbugs, I feel like I'm on high alert for bedbugs!

After coming back from NYC and hearing shortly after that the movie theater we went to had bedbugs, I find myself constantly checking for them. I read that most cases of bedbugs come from luggage. Oh geez! We travel pretty frequently!

Are you doing anything to try to prevent them? I wash everything that comes out of our luggage when we get home and I never put our luggage on our bed anymore.

    you can do the mattress covers that cover the entire mattress (at home).  when travelling they recommend you keep your luggage in the bathroom.  seal up your dirty laundry in a plastic bag for the trip back... run them in the dryer on hot first... then wash 'em.  (or wash in hot ).  

     I have always vacuumed the bed when changing sheets.  but that was prior to the bedbug thing.. not sure if it really helps much?

    It really freaks me out! They just shut down Nike town here in NYC due to bed bugs. I am a nyc public school teacher and witnessed two bedbugs on a students neck last year. Ugh my goodness I wanted to run
