I think DS might have diaper rash, which is odd because we've been CDing almost since birth. Anyway, I know with certain CDs you can't use diaper rash cream...but what about prefolds?
I just logged on to post this same question. She has never had a rash before so this is new to me. I just ran out and bough california baby diaper rash cream. Should I use fleece liners just to be safe? And if so do I need to wash them separately? She recently started solids and went from pooping once every 2 weeks to 2x a day so I think that has a lot to do with it.

This. You can also use a non-CD-friendly cream if you put a liner between the baby and the diaper, but beware because the liner might shift and then the cream will get on your diaper. This happened to us, and while it didn't affect the diaper's effectiveness, it did stain

If you're using a CD friendly diaper rash cream you don't have to use a liner and you don't have to wash any differently. The CD friendly diaper rash creams are missing some ingredients other ointments have in them, like oils and emolliants or something technial.
We get them all the time, usually comes from her poop sitting there just too long while sleeping ors omething. I think her poop could cut through metal it's that caustic.
Re: diaper rash with CDs
