What do you have your eye on? I am all about the slings (I have an Ergo, a Moby, a Poedaegi, Mei Tai and had a Beco) but this time I want a stroller that I actually like. We are getting a single stroller, since I will babywear with the new baby or put Jack on my back, there is no real need for us.
I we have a Kolcraft Contours Options and it is the bulkiest heaviest hardest for me to fold thing ever. I like that it comes with the infant seat attachment (it makes kind of a snap-n-go) and the seat can face either way, but it takes up our WHOLE trunk.
So far I have my eye on the BJ City Mini or Micro and the Quinny Zapp. The fold of the Babyjogger is freaking amazing. The Quinny folds up so small it has a carrying bag. I am going to have to try them out! Any you have your eye on?
Re: Way Early Poll: Strollers?
Patty, I've been looking at strollers since I started trying to get KU, and the more I look at them, the more hopeless I feel. So many options and colours. Hubby wants three wheels, friends recommend the ones that cost 600 bucks, and I have no idea
City mini, uppababy vista, and peg perago right now are at the top of my list, but I want to go test drive them ALL to really see. And then there's the issue of what car seats can go with which. So much to think about, and I can't do ANYTHING until 12 weeks.
I feel just as overwhelmed and I haven't even looked at any yet! I am waiting to check everything out until after 1st tri but I think it would help to get an idea.
We have the BJ City Mini and I like it. It is not my favorite out of my 'fleet' but it is great for quick and light weight! I just wish the seat would sit more upright.
I do love the canopy and the fold though! I can hold my dd and close the stroller without a problem. I also like that it reclines all the way for naps or diaper changes. I might even look into getting the 'jumper seat' that goes on the front so it can be a double when the next baby is here.
We did not go with the micro because of the lack of recline and the lack of canopy (it is HOT in Texas). I also liked the bigger wheels on the mini. My only thing that I did not like about the Quinny was the two handles, I like being able to push with one hand in the middle of the stroller.
Good luck choosing!
I was looking at the Uppababy Vista, but have yet to really "test drive" it. I want something narrow, light, and don't need a lot of extras. We do a lot of traveling and city walking. I'm hoping we can share the babywearing duties, but feel better having a backup for long days just in case. I am staying far away from the travel systems - my gf has one that is so heavy she can barely lift it.
Yesterday - I was parking at the mall and waiting for a dad to put his Stokke (or Orbit) stoller in his sedan trunk. It was a serious process, and he knew we were waiting for the spot. He was getting more and more frustrated. He looked like he wanted to fling it across the lot and refused to make eye contact with us. It ended with him slamming the trunk twice on the stoller and storming to the front to get the mom to help him. I felt so bad but couldn't stop laughing. And I'm making no comment on the brand itself; it was more a "make sure it fits before you buy" learning lesson. :-)

Im getting the City Select! I know that DS will be a few months shy of three, so I don't know how much use we'll get out of it for being a double stroller, but I'd like to have that option in case we go somewhere crowded. You can use it as a single stroller too! I can't wait because our Maclaren (while we love it) is so beat up, so I'm really excited to get a new stroller.

I'm looking into a lightweight sit and stand stroller. My DD will be 4 when baby is born, so she'll be old enough to walk, but sometimes I'm not patient enough to let her walk.
Also if we go on a long outing or crowded place I want to have the option.
Travel system was nice, but too bulky! Especially if you have a car and not an SUV or truck.
There are a few others that are adjustable as well, I just can't think of them.
Umbrella strollers (the "sling" strollers) are horrible. I think they are perfect for someone thati s 5'4". I am 5'6", so using mine is miserable.

We're also planning on babywearing and skipping a double stroller. We have a Bob Revolution that we just LOVE. Our sidewalks here are spotty, and we often walk trails and the beach. The only bad thing is that it's large and heavy...I really want a lightweight stroller for quick errands that is small and light enough to live in my smallish trunk.
I've been totally eyeing the BJ mini. If I could be sure that I could put an after-market platform on it to turn it into a sit and stand to justify the cost for a second stroller, I'd have ordered it already. It gets excellent reviews, big sunshade, easy and compact fold, and is quite lightweight. Indeed, it's about the same weight as a Graco snap-n-go frame. I looked at the micro too because I saw some on sale for $99, but the tiny sunshade, same weight as the mini and not so great reviews really made it a no go, especially in our CA sunshine.
We love the UPPABaby Vista also- it is easy to collapse and I like that it has the bassinet too- we will use that in our room the first few months I think.
I am getting a new one because my other one just doesn't work the way I want it to. Just like choosing a diaper brand, you never know what you like until you actually use it in everyday life. This is a chance to hopefully get something I love.
Ditto. And I want the possibility of having the double just in case we need it. I'm not buying much else for this baby (except new clothes if it's a girl!) so I'd like to spend a little money on something I'll enjoy as much as the baby.
Not too soon! I've been thinking about strollers since we decided to TTC #2!
I want a City Select, however DH is refusing its price tag. Therefore I plan to get the Joovy Ultralight Caboose. It makes the most sense anyway since DD will be nearly 3 1/2 and likely not wanting to consistently ride in a stroller anymore, yet I still want a way to contain her when I need to. The cool thing about the ultralight is it has the wheel base of a single stroller and weighs 21 lbs, which seems practical.
Right now we have a BOB Revolution, which we've loved to the point of absurdity with DD, so I'm sure we'll still use it a lot with #2 as well.
We where looking at the Uppababy Vista but when we checked it out at the store we found it to be big and did not love the tires. We fell in love with the Britax B-Ready stroller it's easy to push has a lock on the tires to only go straight and it's so easy to close up. Perfect for a small place like ours and the tires are great for city life. We are set on the Britax which is $200 less than the Uppababy but we plan on getting the Bassinet which will make it $50 less. Research is the key! Also if you can go to the stores and try out the strollers to make sure that's the one for you. We have been checking out everything and so far we know what we want. We are not buying anything until after the shower. Good luck!
I totally agree with your approach! I just haven't gotten the second lightweight one yet.
I'm lusting after the new Bugaboo in a big, hot way. Unfortunately, I'm predicting a $1200-$1600 price tag which will absolutely knock it out of my grasp.
Probably going for a Bumbleride Indie Twin or a BJ City Mini Double.

I didn't keep mine from DD. All I have left a Maclaren Volo and I don't need a double. So a new purchase it is.
