So now NYC has tornados??!!

I am in complete shock.  We had a tornado rip through my neighborhood yesterday.  All the trees are uprooted and upside-down.  The tree in my back yard took out the two yards next to me.  I was home sick so I witnessed it all and damn it was scary.  Since when do we have tornados in NY???  We still have no power since 5:45pm yesterday. Seriously this year sucks balls. 

Natural BFP - 2/13/10, Natural M/C - 3/9/10 (Missed m/c found at 8wks 4days) Prenatal B/W shows I'm a Beta Thal carrier & so is DH. Onto IVF w/PGD... Jan 2011 - IVF #1 - C/P Mar 2011 - IVF #2 - Day 5 PGD, no ET, 5 snow babies May 2011 - FET #1 - BFP!! Twins!!! 2/9/12 - Our precious miracles arrived! Baby A 7lbs 13oz & Baby B 5lbs 13oz

    Holy crap!  Glad you are ok though!  When do they expect the power to be back on?

    I work in NYC too. It was a nitemare getting home last nite, like the end of the world! Hopefully the weekend is nice weather!

    I heard about that this morning. It must have been terrifying. I'm glad you're okay. 

    I hope they restore power soon.

    Femera started November 2014. 3 rounds, no luck. Moving to IUI.
    March 2015: IUI#1 - nope.
    May 2015: IUI#2 - nada.
    October 2015: IUI#3 - BFP on Nov 2, 2015! *stick baby stick!*

    They said the power would be on when we woke up but that clearly didn't happen.  Thankfully there is no damage to the house and everyone is ok.  It was really insane because I happened to be home from work sick and a tornado warning came on the TV for Queens telling me to put blankets over me or get to a basement and I basically laughed at the TV because we don't have tornados here.  Within 5 minutes it started raining sideways and through my dining room windows I could see it tear through my yard.  In the future I will believe whatever weather warnings pop up on my tv.

    Wow. I live in Astoria and we got a bad thunderstorm briefly, but that was all. It sounds scary! I'm glad you were all ok.

    Wow, that's crazy. Tornados in NY, earthquakes in Ontario...things are getting a little weird.

    I saw this on news last night, total craziness! Some guy videoed the storm moving in, OMG sooo creepy! On Fox 5they showed a lady out with her baby when the storm hit..It was soooo scary

    wowza, similiarly we had a tornado go through Minneapolis this last summer, I had no idea that tornados could happen in cities, for some reason I thought that wide open spaces could have them!!  I'm glad you are safe!

    I saw some footage on the news this morning.  That is crazy!  We had a tornado come through downtown Atlanta a few years ago.  You always hear that tornados don't form in densely-populated areas; I guess they do now!

    Thankfully yes, and I hope the same for you.  Our car missed being pummeled by inches.  I feel so sad for all the lost trees though!  I was on the 45th floor in my office building when the storm came through and lightening was just flashing all around the windows and pitchforking down all through the city.  It was crazy to see.
