1st Trimester

In my Bella Band at 5 weeks, anyone else?

I forgot how this thing makes the butt of my pants sag.

I am much more comfortable though! I am fine in the morning but by the end of the day the bloat makes the waist of my pants way too tight.

I have to  buy pretty much all new maternity clothes this time (last time I got pg in Jan/delivered Oct so I have a lot of summer mat clothes!) Thankfully that can wait :-)

Re: In my Bella Band at 5 weeks, anyone else?

  • I was just thinking about the Bella Band.  Does it work well?  Did anyone else like how it worked?  Because I hate how maternity pants fit me.  I don't need it yet just need some help deciding since I don't want to do maternity pants.  Anyone else suggest other brands to try?

  • Eh, I just skipped straight to my old maternity clothes. I wore my Bella Band once, and remembered what a pain it is to mess around with. I can still wear my regular clothes, but the maternity clothes are so much more comfortable!

  • I just started wearing the band today. I could fit into my normal pants but barely so I know they would be digging into my stomach.  But yup, I am in it now.

I like it but not everyone does. I actually have 2 BeBands (from Target) and like them a lot.

  • skipped straight to the Mat. pants...SO much more comfy!!

  • Not yet! I'm still in the safety-pin stage.

I think I might do some shopping this weekend though....

  • I, too, went straight to maternity pants.  I hate the constant adjusting game that I had to do with the maternity bands.

We have no place that sells plus-size maternity near me and I am not wearing maternity shorts or jeans to work (that is seriously all I have along with an assload of Motherhood tank tops). I have to take a trip to Motherhood soon (about an hour away). BoO!

  • I am going to be in serious trouble with jean wearing pretty soon.  Just like you, the beginning of the day is usually fine but the dang bloat by the end.  It doesn't help that I gained 5 pounds over the summer whoops.  I also do not have to dress up every day so when I am at home I stay in sweats.  But the pants I put on to go in for a half-day today are snug.  Thinking tomorrow I will be using a hair tye to wear my jeans all day long while we are tailgating.

That sucks!  I'm so lucky to have a Motherhood that has a plus-size section practically in my back yard.

  • I switch between mat pants and the bellaband. I'm wearing one today and I want to strangle myself with it. Mat. pants are so much more comfy!

  • Old Navy online sells plus now. I know it stinks to have to order offline because you really don't know how they fit.  I need an extra long inseam though so I have to do all my ordering online and it seems to go ok!
  • Well, I'm glad to read that at 6 weeks my too tight pants (still fit, but I'm so uncomfortable all day) are not abnormal. Haven't gained any weight but I feel so bloated:-(

I'm just going to try and buy a couple of sizes up first to get me through the next little bit, and probably to wear after too. I thought I was imagining it, but I feel so much better (nausea wise too!) when I can get home and put on comfortable sweatpants.

I can't believe it begins already!

  • I am resisting as long as possible.  I have some "fat jeans" that I'm wearing right now, and will try to to do the elastic trick when these get impossible to button.  I am so not ready for my frumpy maternity pants yet!  Mostly because they all make me have super-saggy-butt.  It may be time to invest in some new clothes this go-round...
I don't know what's up with my siggy and I am too lazy to figure it out.
  • Mine's still in the mail, but I don't quite need it yet.

I got one from AnKa off eBay! She cut me a deal.

    Very MM of you!

  • oh yeah, I busted out the bella band immediatly!!

The bloat finally went down at 12 weeks and then real bump started.

The bloat was INSANE. I looked 6 months pregnant at 4 weeks!!!

  • I'm getting a Bella Band tonight. Can't take having no clothes that fit anymore...
  • I used a Bella Band some but i found that the rubberband trick worked better if you are wearing a long shirt.

    ?

by the 3rd trimester i was definitely in maternity pants. ?bella band and rubberband were no longer an option and not comfortable at all!

    ?

i think the ones at Target are just as good and cheaper?

Do you read MrsJenni's blog? She had a very obviously pregnant belly at 7 weeks. Her uterus just wanted to come out and say "hi"!
