Speaking of Halloween costumes and STUPID baby names...

...I do believe I forgot to share this one with all of you.  

A couple days ago I received and email from an old friend of mine.  We used to be close like ten years ago and since moving away from another, we have slowly drifted apart.  Our relationship these days consists of sending one another a Christmas card and emailing each other (more like sending out mass emails to a group of people that includes each other) once or twice a year.

So last year she sends out an email announcing that she's pregnant with number three.  She says she's hoping for a daughter this time because they already have two boys.

Well, the other day I get this email announcing the birth of their third baby boy (by the way, he was born in July).  Anyway, this friend of mine is the epitome of a girly girl.  She has always wanted a little "princess" to follow in her footsteps (her words, not mine).  Let me tell you their last name is White.   ...do you see where this is going??

Yep.  Her email the other day introduced me to their son

Snow Ashton White.

She says they'll call him Ashton, but she convinced her dh that Snow White was the perfect name for their third and final little guy.

FAIL! FAIL! FAIL!!!

They just set their kid up to be ridiculed for the rest of his life.  I'm so sad for him and so embarrassed for them.

She needs to talk to the TTCALer's friend who is finding out the sex of their baby so as not to impress gender vibes in utero so the kid isn't messed up and confused later.

Wow, that is really really horrible.  That poor kid.  If you didn't personally know this woman, I would say it sounds like an urban legend, it's that bad.

bwahahahaha. This made my day.  How does anyone think Snow is an appropriate name for any child let alone a BOY who's last name is WHITE. HAHAHA.  That poor kid.

The hospitals ought to be able to just say "NO!" to names like that.  That kid is going to get beat up every day of the 7th grade!

I know, right!!  It's ridiculous.  At first I thought it was a joke.  I was expecting a follow up email saying something like "Gotcha!" Nope.  That's for really real this poor kids name.  For a while it really pissed me off, to be perfectly honest.  Thought it was selfish and completely unnecessary (I still do!), but then all of a sudden I started LMAO - probably the same response this kid will get every day until he's old enough to legally change his own name.  Coming from this girl, I'm really not that surprised.

Oh!! ...and I've known since the day they got married and she took his name that she wanted desperately to have a little girl cause she thought it would be "cute" to have a daughter named Snow White.

That's awful. Even if he does go by his middle name, every year when school starts his teachers are going to call him Snow White and all the kids will know. What a terrible, terrible decision.

I can't imagine how difficult it must be to in that environment all the time.  We spent two weeks there with dd#1 and every time I looked around the room, my heart sunk (or sank??) just a little bit.  It's amazing, though, what they are able to do with the babies you find in the NICU.

Yikes! I could see it for a girl a lot easier, I'd still giggle a little every time I saw the name, but that poor boy. Hopefully he'll somehow be the one guy that can pull it off?
