Pregnant after IF

visiting from IF with a question

Hello ladies-

I hope you are all doing well!  I am starting lupron for my first IVF cycle on Monday.  DH will most likely be traveling for the egg retrieval.  My doctor said frozen sperm should not be a problem (his counts are fine), but I feel nervous about it.

Have any of you had success using frozen sperm?  Any problems I should look out for?

Thanks in advance!

  • I have not used frozen sperm, but I know there are a few gals on the SAIF board that have for IUI and IVF and had success! You might want to post over there... Good luck!

  • Thank you!  I did post over there and two women told of their success with frozen.  It made me feel a little better Smile

IVF, no. IUI, yes! This pregnancy was a result of our first cycle with the frozen sperm. The post wash count was only around 4 mil, but that is a decent number for cryo sperm.

No problems whatsoever. We plan on paying for the renewal to keep it for one more year and if we end up back at the RE when we start trying again, we will likely just use what we have stored.

That's awesome to know, thanks!  Congrats on 18 weeks, that's amazing!  Continued health and happiness!
