Am I doing this right?

I'm watching the show about sextuplets and they are 16 months, all walking, all saying a few words and acting like toddlers! I'm scared that I'm not encouraging mine enough to be toddlers. My little girl crawls really well but doesn't stand alone so walking is unheard of. My little boy still crawls on his tummy and has yet to pull up on anything. They don't pick up anything to feed themselves (puffs, toast, banana, etc.) They attempt sippies but it's a battle and we still have to hold it for the most part. They will be a year old in less than a month and were 31 weekers. We do everything we can to encourage them...Little Gym, ECI, playdates. I shouldn't say this but I'm ready for a little more independence!

i think they're doing just great! DS didn't start crawling until 9 months actual/7 months adjusted (on his belly) and started pulling up at the same time. he walked at 14 months actual/12 months adjusted (almost to the day). he also took awhile to get into table food. at our last NICU follow-up, he scored between 21 and 23 months on everything (at 20 months acutal). they sound like they're right on track to me!

Ditto! I bet someone miscalculated on those sextuplets' age or something. DD still doesn't stand alone and she's over 12 mos.

I think you're doing just fine. Keep in mind all babies develop at different rates and there really is a big difference in almost 12 months to 16 months. Babies can learn a lot of things in 4 months. Just keep encouraging them like you have been.

Andrew is 20 months old, 17 adjusted, and just became toddlerish.

He just started walking this month.  He just learned to drink from a cup at 15 1/2 months adjusted.  He is just now starting to get a little opinionated (no "tantrums" per say)....

You have a lot of time....enjoy it!
