Pregnant after IF

just ordered the crib...

...and now the panic has set in.  I'm wondering if its too early...what if something happens?  I'm a mess tonight, not sure why I'm feeling so anxious.  It's such a significant purchase, a symbolic one at that and I'm just so scared that as my attachment grows to this little one inside of me that it's going to be ripped away.  Sad

Rahh how do I get these negative thoughts out of my head?  Thanks for listening.

  • Ohhhh, don't worry! It's totally normal to worry like that. Damn IF takes everything away from us. You should be excited! You know, when I told my family this week, the worry start to set in again. I think anytime we do something a little more permanent, we begin to worry again.

Okay, so I read in the baby bargains book that you do really want to have the furniture and such setup for 6-8 weeks before your LO comes. That helps let it breath and you can air out the "chemicals." So see, you had to buy it :)

  • I'll get those thoughts out of yourself.  You can't realisitically jinx yourself  Either stuff will happen or it won't.  What DOES happen all the time is that cribs take for fricking EVER to arrive.

    Yay for cribs!

  • I WANNA SEE A PIC OF THE CRIB LADY!!!! Yay, I am so excited for you little boy's crib to arrive. Stop worrying! ;)

p.s. I am triggering tonight and ER is on wednesday!

  • ps- Just realized this sentence ("I'll get those thoughts out of yourself. ") makes no sense, but I assume you know what I mean.
  • I felt the same way after we ordered our crib - so your feelings are normal to me.

Just try to stay positive - things look great and right now you have nothing to worry about!

  • Re-read that quote from Jeremiah 29 in your siggy. :) That verse always encourages me.

  • silly girl, you're 19 weeks ordering a crib, not 9 weeks ordering a crib. It takes these things a while to ship and get in, you'll be glad you got it!

    What did you pick out?

thanks niki :):)  I know i'm being super silly. I called JCP and they no longer had the white standard renew crib and weren't sure when they were getting it back in stock.  Boo.  We wound up going with the White Graco Lauren Crib-still simple with clean lines and at a good price with good ratings.  Can't wait to get it!! :)

  • You can't jinx yourself. We all know this in our brains but sometimes it's hard to believe. I'm freaking out because we had to start our registry for an early shower and now I'm scared for thursday's appt.

    Enjoy every second of this!

  • I definitely worried about the same thing & we ordered our crib/dresser set SUPER early b/c we found them on sale for a GREAT price. We got our stuff @ like 13 weeks! So the worry is completely normal & I don't think it ever goes away. I strill worry about our LO all the time & I'm less than 8 weeks away from my EDD. IDK if you're a praying person, but that's all I can do to calm myself down & just have faith that everything will be okay. Is it always? No. But it is more often than not. Congrats on taking this big step!
  • thanks gals :)
