I think my dogs know I'm pg.

When I was pregnant with DD, our little toy poodle started following me everywhere and sitting on my belly whenever he could.  We thought it was super cute.  Now we have an extremely large husky/poodle and he's trying to do the same thing.  If I'm on the couch with my laptop he tries to knock it off my lap so he can lay on me.  He comes charging into the bathroom whenever I'm in there so he can shove his giant head into my crotch.  And he started sleeping on the hardwood floor next to my side of the bed instead of his cushy doggy bed.  I must smell really good to him, or else my bloated belly looks like a really comfortable pillow!  

Anyone else's dogs acting different now?

Just like my first pregnancy, our dog beelines into the bathroom when I'm peeing. I swear he can smell the hormones!

We have two lab mixes and they have been doing the same types of things! They always lay beside me and put their heads on my stomach. Its really cute! And since they are still puppies they have their wild and crazy moments - and now they avoid jumping on me but they still jump on DH

we have a lab and w/ all my pg I think she knew. However, unlike others who say their pets got protective or clingy mine avoids me all the time now. DH jokes it's b/c she's jealous that she can't have her own babies.

My  friends boxer knew I was pregnant with Alex before i did. He wouldn't leave my side. And now that I am pregnant again, its the same thing.

I have two Yorkies and the female one is always on my belly. We call her my incubator... lol

I'm a teacher and I just went back to home.  My husband works at home, and he says that our dog just mopes around all day while I'm gone, and eventually just goes upstairs and stay in her kennel.  Then when I get home she's so excited and she's all over me.  I told my husband, that maybe she knows I'm pregnant, and she's just really worried about me all day.

Last year when I went to work she'd just chill with Dad all day in his office.  They were totally "best friends".  Now she's all about me.  It's pretty darn cute.

This is so funny! My dog does the same thing, but since we got him a few weeks before I got pregnant, I never thought it was because I was pregnant. He doesn't do it to my husband. We have a boxer/shepard mix. The beelining to the bathroom when I pee has to be one of the funniest things he does. I have to shut the door now or he also tries to put his head where it doesn't belong.

My dog knew I was pg before I did! He's been super clingy and protective lately. Super cute, but also a little annoying since he's always underfoot!

My dog knew the day I was going into labor.   She was in my lap all day, would not leave my side, then she chewed two holes in the carpet, she had never chewed on anything before and has never done it again since.  I yelled at her for it but she still would not leave me alone.  So I took her to my parents house to play, she ran in, greeted them quickly (not at all her usual routine) and then went right back to me. I went into labor that night.

So if your dogs are noticing now that you're pregnant, watch for signs around your due date!

Oh my goodness...I have to agree...I have a rat terrier and he has started to just stare at me all the time for long peiods of time...It is so annoying...I always tell him to stop...I think he knows something is going on...It is jut plain weird I think...

Like many of you, my dog sniffs in the toilet after I pee, and sometimes he will sniff my undies after I throw them in the hamper. I think they smell the change in hormones.
