XP: prep before or after sewing?

Ok, I'm sorry, I'm going to post and run (to bed!), but I just threw my new bamboo fabric in the wash so I can sew when I wake up tomorrow. Now I'm wondering though if I need to wash it several times before I sew or after. Advice? Thanks!

Not sure about bamboo fabric specifically but for anything I sew for other stuff - I usually just wash once on regular wash and dry.
