So, I hate milk, hate it so bad. I always have since I was a kid. Well today I went to buy whole milk to start putting a tiny bit in J's bottles to see how she handles it. When I opened it there was some thick build up in the top and a little chunk. I smelled it and it just smells like milk=gross. So anyway even though the date says Sept 17th, is it spoiled? Or is that normal for whole milk. I have literally NEVER bought whole milk before.

    If there was any around the rim when it was sealed it tends to get dried and crusty. I just wipe it off. As for the chunk...not sure. I get 2% for us (DS isn't drinking milk yet) and I am always just cleaning off the crusties.

    I hate milk too, but I'd imagine it's just fat that's risen to the top.  Shake it up and it should be fine.

    cool, I'll shake it up and ask DH to smell it when he gets home. It's not crusty, it's like thick
