Would you tell family without DH there / need advice-

We haven't told my parents or his yet--we were going to tell them after our first u/s in a couple of weeks just to "make sure" there's a heartbeat.  The HcG has been good--but until I 'see' something, I don't believe it LOL

Anyways---my dad's been ill in the hospital for a week and finally coming home tomorrow.  I've been debating telling them early in hopes maybe the great news will help him "heal"--he's just in love with DS.  Same with my mom--she's beyond stressed at this point and maybe it'd help to bring her mind in to a different place.  BUT then again....what if something happened???  What another bad thing to endure for them! 

 We were going to visit him tomorrow.  I'm debating having DS wear his "big brother shirt" to share the news.  BUT DH has to work all weekend so wouldn't be there.  I'm not sure if it's weird to tell without him.  For DS my parents and his mom were here to share the news--but he actually told his parents without me since they weren't around. 

WWYD?  Would you tell early????   Or just wait the two weeks and then tell when it's a little more "sure".

I would worry that their minds would be so distracted that you wouldn't get the happy reaction you would if you wait a little while.  I'm going to tell my parents over the phone this weekend so DH will be here, but neither of us will be with them.

For this pregnancy, I was on a on a trip when DH told my in-laws that I was pregnant.  We weren't sure when we would see them next, so it only made sense for him to tell them.

I told DH's family while he was at work cause the whole family was over. he didn't mind. his dad did say something but he's an idiot anyway

I told my parents while DH was at work. I was too excited to wait. I asked DH if it was fine with him. We called him after I told them.
