Babies: 9 - 12 Months

If you baby has teeth I have a question for you??

DS is 9 mths old.  He still doesn't have any teeth.  Sometimes he does seem to have some mild discomfort.  However the last two nights he has seemed miserable.  He wakes up literally every 15-20 mins and didn't sleep hardly at all the last two nights.  Last night from 8 PM until 3 AM he was up every little while crying.  Did this happen to anyone else??

  • sounds like it could be teething. Have you tried Motrin or Tylenol? Rubbing their gums with those finger brushes helps my DD tons. Or it also could be a growth spurt or even a ear infection.

Yes, we gave him some generic tylenol and they hyland's tablets and they didn't seem to work at all.  Poor thing.  I think it is a combination of stuffy nose and teeth discomfort.  Hope it clears up soon.  We may take him to the doc. this afternoon just to be sure.

  • Kaitlyn's been cutting teeth over the last month.  She tends to wake up crying through out the night which isn't the norm for her.

Ive heard sooo many ppl swear by those tablets, they didnt do a THING for us either. Hopefully its just teeth and nothing too serious. good luck!

  • DD is used to getting teeth now, so they don't affect her sleep anymore. However, with the first couple for several nights before the tooth actually pushed out the gum, she would be up almost constantly at night crying. Pain meds wouldn't do much for her at that point. I think its worse at night because they don't have any distractions from the pain. Fortunately, it only lasts a few days, the tooth comes in and you both get a break until the next tooth. Hopefully it is just teething and not something more serious.
