So I'm trying to sleep on my side since 15/16 weeks is when they say you should start. I'm usually a side sleeper so I figured this wouldn't be an issue. But I am always waking up on my back!
My hips hurt when I'm on my side so I think I roll over to my back to ease the pressure. We have a double pillow top mattress with a down mattress topper - it's like sleeping on the cloud. But even all that extra padding isn't helping.
Any ideas?

I started using a body pillow alredy and its helped, i'm normally a stomach sleeper, and its been difficult already, and trying to get into the habit of sleeping on my side. Its been hurting my shoulder though...
I would suggest a body pillow to start with.
I have the snoogle, too, and do experience back pain when I sleep on my left side. I'm fine on the right side but the left kills me. For me, I feel like it may be due in part by the fact that I'm basically in the same position all night.
I used to be a side sleeper, and never had a problem, but lately it just hasn't been comfortable for me. I find sometimes I lean forward a little bit and then just that little bit of pressure on my belly makes me uncomfortable, even though I can still lie on my stomach and feel fine. It's weird.
I'm thinking of trying some sort of body pillow instead of a regular one so I can get a better sleep.

Sometimes my hips hurt too and neck hurts. But hey, if we don't actuallyhave to start that, sleeping on side, til week 15 or 16,, I then have 3 more weeks to go! lol
