1st Trimester

Gotta fake it to make it!

Well, I'm headed out to see a movie and have dinner with a friend. I've been sick to my stomach pretty much all day. There is nothing to eat in this house that is on my diet. I tried to choke down some split pea soup, and was successful but I'm still feeling crappy.

I'm not telling anyone I'm KU yet and I'm afraid I'll have to run out of the theatre to puke! I've been drinking plenty of water.

So...I just have to fake that I feel okay and get through the night!!! :)

Re: Gotta fake it to make it!

  • Same thing happened to me. We haven't told anyone yet but had a girls night out planned. Pretty obvious if I'm not drinking! So I had to make up a story about how I was taking a medicine that makes you sick if you drink while on it.

Feel bad about lying to my besties but no one figured it out and our secret is safe until we have our dr appointment!

Hope it went as well for you!!

  • I'm sure you have already headed out for the night. I hope all goes well as I know it's tough.

I have been able to avoid girls night out for now which has been good.  A few times we have gone out my husband has been my savior by going up to the bar and bring me back what looks like a cosmo but is really just a cranberry concoction in a martini glass.  He says the female bartenders are all very understanding and happy to help keep our secret.

  • Well, I was able to keep it a secret...that was until she asked me how TTC was going! I said, "things are going well..." with a huge dopey grin on my face. She looked at me and said..."Sarah...are you not telling me something?" I said. "You can't tell anybody, but I'm KU!" I really wasn't going to tell her.

This is scary...cause if anybody else asks me...I'm in trouble! Luckily though nobody in our family even knows we were trying so, that question shouldn't come up. I see my parents in 2 weeks. I pray I can keep a straight face and not say anything. I'm praying m/s will be tame enough to not say anything!!

  • It's always hard not to tell. Big Smile Good luck with the not telling the parents thing.

  • I think just say, "Im not feeling that great and have a headache...water is for me!" And that you have ab usy day tomorrow and cant be sick?

    HAVE FUN!

  • We weren't planning to tell our parents as early as we did (9 weeks) but I got really emotional (hormonal) one day and just really wanted to talk to my mom.  DH made me settle down first to see if I really wanted to call her, and an hour later I still did.  So we spilled the beans.

  • I must be a complete dork, but I told everyone in both our families as well as my best friends the very first day we found out!  We've been trying for 3 years and finally....success!  :)  everyone is so excited with us and, if anything happens, i feel like it's ok for them to know about that, too, so they'll be there for support.

I say Spill the Beans!  :)
