Which one do you do?
We got the okay two weeks ago from the pedi to go ahead and do half whole milk/ half formula since Aubrey was refusing straight formula. So the first week I just bought regular whole milk. Last week Target was out of their brand of whole milk and when I compared the price of a half a gallon of Purity to a half a gallon of Horizon Organic milk the organic milk was cheaper so I bought that. She seems to like both kinds.
I'm not a strictly organic girl obviously, but I will buy certain things. I don't know whether to keep doing the Horizon or if regular milk would do just as good. The only con to the organic I have is that a half a gallon is over 3 dollars and a gallon is almost 6 dollars.
I haven't done a whole lot of research on organic vs whole milk. I do know that it seems to me that girls mature (body wise) a whole lot faster these days and I do wonder if it's because of the hormones and stuff added to meat and milk. I plan on doing some reading on it.
So which do you use?
Re: Organic Whole Milk vs Regular Whole Milk
We use Organic Whole Milk. I haven't done a HUGE amount of research on it, I admit, but with all the talk about the potential correlation between pre-mature maturity in girls and regular milk, I figured it can't hurt.
Buying Organic is also overall better for the environment - the farming practices are much more regulated and environmentally friendly. I don't buy ALL organic stuff, but when the choice is there (and won't cost me a fortune) I choose Organic over conventional on most foods.
And - spending $3/half gallon of milk vs $2.50 (?) isn't going to break us - so Why not?
