I took DD #1 to a Baby ArtsPlay class at Wolf Trap last Fall. Loved it. But I'm biased because not only did I use to work there, I was the program manager for the infant music classes way back when they started them.

Re: PSA: classes at Wolf Trap, registration is open
Hi there!
I've been looking for a music class for my daughter to take this fall! Can you tell me more about the activities (we'd be in the 12-18m class)? How does it compare to kindermusik (it's a bit more expensive). Do the sessions fill up quickly?
Thanks!
Julia
I'm sorry I've never been to a Kindermusic class, but I can tell you that the teaching artists that Wolf Trap uses are all professionals (maybe that's why the classes cost a little more - they pay the artists fairly well for their expertise). They have free snacks, juice, Starbucks coffee and water in a room to enjoy before class so you can mingle with other parents. You also get a tote bag with a childrens book, a few simple rhythm instruments and a CD of songs - all of which may be why it's a little more $$.
The session I signed up for did fill up quickly, in fact they put me on a waiting list but then I got in. But that was a weekend class - since I work FT I didn't have a choice of the weekday/daytime classes - I'm not sure if those fill up as quickly.
Whoops, too late, class is already full!
Thanks again for the info!
