Insomnia

I keep waking up at 2am and I'm wide awake.  I don't know what's keeping me up, anxiety, thirst, hunger, snoring DH...  I hate being awake when everyone else is sleeping and when I know that in a few weeks I will be woken up all night long when I do want to sleep. Stick out tongue  Did anyone else deal with this?

Re: Insomnia

  • good morning. Been up since 3:30. This is the third time in the last three weeks. Ironically when DH decides to join me in bed lately this happens. He's a restless sleeper some nights and his constant movements + the fact that I'm not sleeping comfortably these days = tragedy.

I'm ready to kill him tonight with the pillow he stole out from under me :)

  • I've dealt with this throughout this pregnancy. Especially early on and again in recent weeks. My insomnia has mostly been due to anxiety, but hunger, discomfort, and a snoring DH haven't helped. The only thing that's worked for me is 25 mg of benadryl right before bed. It's what my ob, mw, and mfm recommended (50 mg/ max for every 6 hrs). Good luck, I know it's an awful thing to deal with.

  • Hang in there. I totally remember being wide awake at crazy hours of the night, especially towards the end. That is when I'd usually check the bump or read a book/magazine or eat something light so that I could drift back to sleep. My MFM said tylenol was fine for discomfort (which I feel contributed to the restlessness).
