When do you consider pants too short?

Some of Tegan's pants are starting to only come to about mid ankle (right about the ankle bone). I think they look a bit like high waters, but they also seem to get in her way a bit less, since she's still army crawling. When do you typically move up a size in pants?

When he looks like Steve Urkel.  Haha just kidding.  It's hard because I don't want him to look like a dork, but the next size are just too long and he steps on them and trips when he is cruising.

Appearance wise that would drive me nuts! On me pants have to hit the floor... have to. We haven't put pants on DS yet, but that is definitely too short for me. But I do see where you're going with the crawling!

DD is long and skinny so by the time most pants fit in her waist (i.e. don't fall down when she stands up) they are high waters.  I just say they are capris and let her keep wearing them.  I am not going to worry about it until it gets cold enough that I need to.

She'll wear them until they're too tight on her.  Capris are the in thing, right?  It's like the dresses that are now her tunic/shirt.  It is now too short to be a dress.  Why get rid of it if it still fits, KWIM?

Well I let E continue to wear some pants that were too short b/c they still fit her in the waist and they actually look like capris.  So as long as they don't look silly I let her wear them until she totally outgrows them.
