DH seems to think we can't even look at B names since we used one with our son- he thinks that means we will be stuck with B names for a 3rd and it's too matchy.
I kind of agree, kind of don't- wonder what others think.

I don't think B names are out for a 2nd kid. The only way maybe would be if you and DH both have B names then a 3rd kid who doesn't get a B name may feel weird once old enough to think through it.
However, that's coming from a person (me) who is using a D name for DS, DD has a D name, I have a D name, DH is a D name, my brother is a D name, and both my parents are D names... so, I am one of those weird people. lol
Not out per se. I try really hard just to look at names I love, and not names that match or don't match, unless we're talking super similar names.
For instance, I have a Emmeline, and I really like the name Elliott. Doesn't bother me. If we ever had a third, I'd be perfectly fine with a Gwendolen or a Penelope...doesn't have to match or not match. Just what I love.
Eh, IMO it depends. Sound is more important to me than letters.
Bryan and Brennan would be a no-no.
Bryan and Beatrice would be ok.
That problem can happen regardless of first letter, as in Elizabeth and Alyssa. Same sounds, different letters. And Elizabeth and Alyssa will always sound more "matchy" than Bryan and Beatrice.
i think so, my dd is M and were having twins and the twins will not be M's and the twins will not be named names with the same letter. i think everyone should have their own letter.
Since DH and I are different letters, I want all of our kids to be different letters too so that everyone has their own for the purposes of labeling and scheduling in the future. I may have an OCD problem

This made me LOL, but I think you make a great point about labeling and scheduling. But if you did have to have the same letter, you could use color coordination as an alternative, though there are some situations that won't allow for this. (Now realizing that I may be in the same boat with you on this)
I think if there is a B name that you've loved for years, keep it on the list. But I wouldn't go looking for more B names if I were you.

It's fine with me. My DS's and DD's names start with the same letter-- we didn't do it on purpose, we just loved those names the best.
